The overall design of the surface grinding machine involves ergonomics like all operating hand wheels, levers, stroke setting devices and the pendant control panel to allow easy operation. The wheel head automatically down feeds from 0.001 mm to 0.04 mm and spark out grinding is adjustable from 0 to 9 times. After the completion of automatic grinding cycle the wheel-head of the surface grinding machine is automatically lifted to the present position. The spindle of the surface grinding machine is engineered for heavy duty grinding and is supported by 4 preloaded super precision angular contact ball bearings. All the 3-axis guideway rails of the surface grinding machine are toughened to 60-64 hrc. The linear guideways are employed to insure superior accuracy, exact positioning and stick slip-free movement. The crossfeed lead screw is toughened and ground for enhanced durability and accurate positioning. These crossfeed and elevating systems are supplied with micro feed devices which are calibrated to 0.001 mm. Automatic surface grinding and automatic plunge grinding cycles are included in the surface grinding machine. In addition to that, frequency converter for steady surface speed of grinding wheel is also provided with the surface grinding machine.
